The Quail 2026: How to Get to Monterey's Most Exclusive Car Event Without the Stress

Limoscene Team
June 29, 2026

The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering returns for its 23rd year on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel Valley. It's one of the most intimate and exclusive automotive events in the world — a curated garden party on the rolling greens of a private lodge, featuring rare automotive debuts from top manufacturers, hundreds of collector cars and motorcycles, gourmet food pavilions, live entertainment, and on-site auction action from Broad Arrow.

Tickets start in the thousands. Getting there should not be an afterthought.

What Makes The Quail Different

Most Car Week events are large-scale — Laguna Seca holds tens of thousands, the Concours draws enormous crowds even on its private grounds. The Quail is different. It's intentionally capped, intentionally curated, and intentionally high-end. Think garden party, not grandstand. You're surrounded by a few hundred cars, some of the most significant debuts of the automotive year, and a food and beverage program that competes with the vehicles.

The 2026 edition will feature:

  • Automotive debuts from top OEMs and independent designers — vehicles announced and unveiled publicly for the first time at The Quail
  • Curated display of rare collector cars and motorcycles, each carefully selected for the show field
  • Broad Arrow Auctions — a two-day auction on August 13–14, with the final session running live during The Quail gathering, approximately 175 significant collector cars
  • Themed gourmet food pavilions with curated wine and cocktail pairings
  • Fireside Chat series with notable guests from the automotive world
  • Live entertainment throughout the day

Tickets are available through official channels and secondary markets — expect to pay a significant premium. This is not the event you show up to casually.

The Carmel Valley Access Problem

Quail Lodge sits in Carmel Valley, off Carmel Valley Road — a scenic two-lane corridor that heads inland from Carmel-by-the-Sea. During Car Week, and especially on Quail day, that road sees significant traffic as attendees converge from Monterey, Pacific Grove, and points north and south.

Quail Lodge's parking is limited. The grounds are designed for a private resort experience, not for managing event-day parking for hundreds of vehicles. If you're self-driving, you're competing for a small number of spaces and possibly shuttling in from overflow areas.

More importantly: if your plan for The Quail includes any of the other events happening during Car Week — the Rolex Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca in the morning, or dinner in Carmel-by-the-Sea that evening — driving between them yourself means parking and re-parking in three different locations across a small peninsula that's operating at maximum capacity all week.

A chauffeured vehicle solves every one of those transitions.

How Limoscene Runs Quail Day

Our most common booking for The Quail is a full Car Week day:

  • 8:00–9:00 AM — Pickup at your hotel in Monterey, Carmel, or Pacific Grove
  • Morning — Optional stop at Laguna Seca for opening sessions of the Rolex Motorsports Reunion
  • 10:00 AM — Arrival at Quail Lodge & Golf Club for The Quail
  • 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM — The Quail gathering; Broad Arrow auction; lunch on grounds
  • Late afternoon/evening — Dinner in Carmel-by-the-Sea, back to hotel, or onward to evening events

Our Mercedes Sprinter van is the right vehicle for this. It's comfortable for groups, handles luggage and gear without issue, and moves through the narrow roads of Carmel Valley and Carmel-by-the-Sea with far more ease than a large coach. For a group attending The Quail, it removes every logistical friction between arriving and enjoying.

Combining The Quail With the Rest of Car Week

The Quail lands on August 14, four days before the Concours and three days into the Rolex Motorsports Reunion. If you're serious about Car Week, you're likely attending more than one event across the week. Here's how the full schedule looks:
